Marquee FAQs

Nightime lit marquee

Below we’ve listed some of our most frequently asked questions that you may find useful when you’re looking to hire a marquee.

What clearance is required for a marquee?

Usually, you’ll need 1.5-metre clearance around the entire marquee to ensure ample room for the safety ropes. This may differ between various marquees – get in touch with a member of our team if you’re unsure.

How long is your marquee hire period?

This depends on what the customer requires – a member of our team will be able to confirm our availability.

When will you erect/dismantle the marquee?

We’ll usually erect the marquee a couple of days before the event to give you time to set up any interior decorations you’d like to add. We will dismantle the marquee as soon as your event has finished, getting you back to normality after the festivities.

Do I need planning permission?

Generally a marquee can be permitted for up to 28 days without planning permission, but don’t worry if you need planning, we’re here to help you navigate what is needed.

Can your marquees be opened up in warm weather?

The walls are detachable for most marquees allowing ventilation in warm weather. A member of our staff can show you how to do this safely.

Do I hire furniture and lighting separately?

We provide a wide range of interior hire to suit your needs, from seating, to decorative lighting, to hire separately. Check out our interior hire page for more information.

Will we need to provide an electricity source?

We can use a nearby building for electrical supply, but if this is not available then we have generators available for hire.

Should I cut the grass?

We recommend cutting the grass before we come to erect the marquee, but excess grass must be removed. If the marquee is going to be standing for an extended period of time, this may slightly damage the grass underneath, but this will rectify itself within a couple of weeks.

Do you offer services for barn interiors?

Yes, we have a variety of barn interiors to choose from, check out this page for more information.

We provide a variety of different marquees to suit all uses, whether you’re looking for an intimate setting for a small wedding or a large marquee for a festival, we’ve got you covered. If you have any queries, please get in touch with us today.
