Transform a village hall into a perfect wedding venue

Traditionally, a wedding consisted of a packed local church then back to the village hall or a neighbour’s barn for something to eat before some dancing, the speeches and a walk home. There wasn’t really any other option.

Now there is so much choice – but we are seeing more and more couples returning to this option as you really do get a lot of venue for your money and is perfect if you want a rural wedding but don’t have the land for a marquee.

You may be wondering why we are talking about village hall and barn weddings… but this is where we can help you transform your budget hall into a romantic and special venue.

Big impressions, small budget

Village halls rarely charge a massive amount to hire – a friend’s barn even less. Village halls often come with a fully equipped kitchen and ample parking. Many have a games field or children’s play area attached. So, you really do get a lot for your budget, and more to spend on the decoration and finishes.

From an empty hall to opulent venue

Think of your empty hall as a blank canvas to transform into any theme or style. Much like a marquee you can choose finishes that match you – and this is where we come in with our wide selection of drapes and linings.

Linings come in a wide range of colours and can simply, well, line the hall – no more ceiling tiles or pictures of the local brownie group or pinboard of event. If you choose a white lining, consider adding coloured drapes or decorated features to stop it looking sparse.

Upgrade the Lighting

Adding to your lined room festoon or fairy lights can start setting the mood. Candles or fairly lights in jars can be added to tables along with flowers or decorations to start building up the picture… And don’t forget our illuminated letters!

Our lights can all be hired without a marquee.

Event Work

Tables, Chairs & Furniture

While your hall is likely to come with tables and chairs, why not hire from us and forget worrying about tables that have been used for decades for the toddler group, whist drives or bingo.

Our furniture barn is packed with different styles and finishes of tables and chairs. From round to trestle formal to rustic. Our chairs can also be covered to match your colour scheme.

Perfect games tent

With just the a hall, keeping your guests entertained can be a challenge even if the hall does have a playing field attached. This is where one of our small marquees is perfect for a place where children can play, colour or craft. It can also be a quiet area for when the dancing starts. With marquees starting as small as 3 x 3 it is perfect for some games or a pot of tea.

For years these hidden gems have been overlooked but we’re glad they are now being used more and we think they are really worth digging out!
